BP AZERBAIJAN'S EXPENDITURES IN-COUNTRY

BP Azerbaijan's expenditures in-country under joint projects
with local companies totaled $390m in 2003, David Woodward,
BP-Azerbaijan President, told a news conference on December
22.
According to Woodward, the share of state owned companies
is $96m, joint ventures - $244m and small and medium scale
enterprises (SME) - $50m.
The number of in-country companies with Azerbaijani capital
involved by BP Azerbaijan have made up 580, of them 59 are
state owned, 22 are joint ventures and over 500 - SME.
Woodward noted total in-country expenditure in 2003 would
comprise $1.108bn, just over 28% of total capital expenses
in Azerbaijan.
