BP AZERBAIJAN'S EXPENDITURES IN-COUNTRY TOTAL $1.108M

BP Azerbaijan's expenditures in-country under joint projects with local companies totaled $390m in 2003, David Woodward, BP-Azerbaijan President, told a news conference on December 22.
According to Woodward, the share of state owned companies is $96m, joint ventures - $244m and small and medium scale enterprises (SME) - $50m.
The number of in-country companies with Azerbaijani capital involved by BP Azerbaijan have made up 580, of them 59 are state owned, 22 are joint ventures and over 500 - SME.

Woodward noted total in-country expenditure in 2003 would comprise $1.108bn, just over 28% of total capital expenses in Azerbaijan.

In June 2006, the Open Society Institute spun off its Revenue Watch program to create an independent Revenue Watch Institute (RWI), a sister organization to coordinate and lead the Soros Foundation Network’s (SFN) work on transparency and accountability in resource-rich countries.

IMF: Azerbaijan's Poverty Reduction Progress
The Government of Azerbaijan submitted its Progress Report on Poverty Reduction Strategy to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in October 2004. IMF Joint Staff has released its assessment of the progress report prepared by the government.
