RUSSIAN GAS IMPORT CEASED

Russia ceased natural gas supply to Azerbaijan
on April 21, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan
(SOCAR) told Trend.
The decision was taken in connection
with the refurbishment of in Russian section of
the Mozdok-Gazi Mahommad gas pipeline,
to be completed in three days.
SOCAR said gas import from Russian would be more
probably restored on April 24.
The Russian side will compensate the delayed
volume of natural gas export through increase
of daily deliveries.
Around 50bn cu m of natural gas was gathered
in the gas stores of Azerbaijan, as gas pumping
for the next winter-fall season was set up on April 15.
Azerigas state company plans pump 1 billion
cu m of gas in 2004.
