PRESIDENTS OF SOCAR, BP AZERBAIJAN
VISIT GEORGIA

Natig Aliyev, SOCAR President, and David Woodward,
President of BP Azerbaijan, arrived in
Georgia on Wednesday to get familiar with
the course of implementation of the construction
of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), Trend reports.
They held a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Zurab
Zhinavia and Giya Chanturiya, President of
the Georgian International Oil Corporation.
Woodward told journalists that he was satisfied
with the speed of implementation of the BTC
construction project. "The work here was
implemented by 60%. Laying and welding of pipes
in the 150km-section of the 248km-long Georgian
section of BTC have been completed and
I am sure the pipeline will be ready for exploitation
in the first half of 2005," he underscored.
