EXPLORATION-DRILLING WORK IN WEST ABSHERON NEARING TO COMPLETION

Exploration-drilling work in West Absheron is nearing to completion, though the oil-men still failed to open the oil stratum, Trend reports.

At present the exploration work and work on preparing the drilling area for the exploitation well are underway.

SOCAR announced the experts carry out special researches to study the West Absheron field. The Drilling Unit Pirallahi and Offshore Exploration and Drilling Operations Bayil Limani are involved in suppding exploration wells on the West Absheron with the help of semi-submersible drilling rigs.

In June 2006, the Open Society Institute spun off its Revenue Watch program to create an independent Revenue Watch Institute (RWI), a sister organization to coordinate and lead the Soros Foundation Network’s (SFN) work on transparency and accountability in resource-rich countries.

IMF: Azerbaijan's Poverty Reduction Progress
The Government of Azerbaijan submitted its Progress Report on Poverty Reduction Strategy to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in October 2004. IMF Joint Staff has released its assessment of the progress report prepared by the government.
