AZERI-RUSSIAN FORUM ON TRADE-ECONOMIC RELATIONS DUE

A scientific and practical conference 'Azerbaijani-Russian trade and economic relationships. Development Prospects and Tendencies' will be held in Baku on April 6-7, the Azerbaijani embassy in Moscow announced.

The key objective of the forum is to analyze the status in bilateral trade and economic, consider the development prospects. The high-ranking Russian delegation, comprised of representatives from the Russian subjects, governors, authoritative officials from financial and business circles of Russia, as well as several ministries, will attend the gathering. President Ilham Aliyev is also expected to participate in the forum.

OSI's Revenue Watch Program Becomes Independent Institute

In June 2006, the Open Society Institute spun off its Revenue Watch program to create an independent Revenue Watch Institute (RWI), a sister organization to coordinate and lead the Soros Foundation Network’s (SFN) work on transparency and accountability in resource-rich countries.

IMF: Azerbaijan's Poverty Reduction Progress
The Government of Azerbaijan submitted its Progress Report on Poverty Reduction Strategy to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in October 2004. IMF Joint Staff has released its assessment of the progress report prepared by the government.
