AZERBAIJAN EXPORTS OVER 5M T OF CRUDE IN NINE MONTHS OF 2004

Baku, 25 October: Azerbaijan exported 5,243,277 t of oil worth 1,208.4m dollars in January-September 2004, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee has told Turan.

Over this period, (according to the showings of meters) 1,958,297 t of oil was exported via the "northern" route [Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline] and 4,584,097 t via the "western" route [Baku-Supsa pipeline]. Crude was exported by the AIOC [Azerbaijan International Operating Company] (2,653,748 t, or 50.61 per cent) and the directorate for marketing and economic transactions of SOCAR [State Oil Company of Azerbaijan] (2,559,632 t, or 48.92 per cent).

IMF: Azerbaijan's Poverty Reduction Progress
